How to send files from your phone to your PC without a cable
Move photos, PDFs and other files between a phone and a computer in the browser — no app, no account, no USB cable.
Open myclipcloud.com/nearby on your phone and your PC while both are on the same Wi-Fi. They appear to each other automatically: tap the PC on your phone, accept on the PC, then choose the photo or file and tap Send. Nothing to install and no account needed. On different networks, connect with a 6-digit code instead.
Steps
- Connect the phone and the PC to the same Wi-Fi.
- On both, open myclipcloud.com/nearby in any current browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari).
- On the phone, tap your PC in the list. It shows the name of each device — give them clear names such as "Office laptop".
- On the PC, tap Accept.
- On the phone, choose the photo or file and tap Send. On the PC, save it or open it.
It works the other way too: send from the PC and pick it up on the phone. Text and links work the same way — copy on one device, paste on the other.
If the devices are on different networks
Nearby lists devices that share the same internet connection. A phone on mobile data, or a device using a VPN, will not appear. Open Connect with a 6-digit code on one device and type the code on the other. Codes work for 5 minutes and once.
What you can send
- Photos and screenshots, PDFs, Office and text documents, ZIP files, audio and video, up to 25 MiB each.
- Text and links, for example a long message or a web address.
- Programs and scripts are blocked for safety.
Where your files go
Files go straight from one browser to the other over an encrypted connection. If a direct connection is not possible, they pass through MyClipCloud's server encrypted and are deleted as soon as they are delivered (at most 10 minutes). Nothing is saved to an account or a history. See the privacy policy.
Compared with other ways
| Method | Install or sign-up | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| MyClipCloud Nearby | None | Quick transfers between your own devices, any phone and computer |
| USB cable | A cable, sometimes drivers | Very large files |
| Emailing it to yourself | An email account | Small files; size limits and clutter |
| Cloud drive | Account and app | Files you want to keep long-term |
Troubleshooting
- The other device does not show up: check both are on the same Wi-Fi and that MyClipCloud is open on both. Turn off a VPN, or use the 6-digit code.
- The transfer stops: keep both pages open and on screen until it finishes; phones pause pages in the background.
- The file is refused: it may be over the size limit or a blocked type (programs and scripts).
- You want history or sync from anywhere: create a free account — then your clipboard follows you across networks.
