How to copy and paste between devices with your browser
Move text from a laptop to a phone, or between two computers, without cables, email or installing anything.
To copy and paste between devices in a browser, open MyClipCloud on both and sign in with the same account. Copy text or a photo on the first device; on the second, it is put on the clipboard as soon as MyClipCloud is in front — just paste. Without an account, devices on the same Wi-Fi can use Nearby instead.
Steps
- On device A, open MyClipCloud and create an account with your email, or choose Sign in with Google.
- On device B, open MyClipCloud in a browser and sign in with the same MyClipCloud account. Automatic sync is already on.
- On device A, copy your text: press Ctrl+C (⌘+C on Mac) in MyClipCloud, or copy it in any app and switch back to the MyClipCloud tab (Chrome and Edge; allow clipboard access once).
- On device B, open the MyClipCloud tab. The text is already on the clipboard — paste it into any app.
Common situations
Laptop to phone
Keep MyClipCloud open on your phone, or open it when you need the text. Mobile browsers pause background pages, so the item appears when the page is on screen.
Two computers
Leave MyClipCloud open in a tab on both. New items show up within moments, ready to paste.
A borrowed computer
Sign in, use it, then sign out — or remove that device later from Devices on any of your other devices.
Troubleshooting
- Nothing arrives: check both devices use the same MyClipCloud account and that automatic sync is on and not paused.
- Paste gives the old text: the browser only lets the tab that is in front change the clipboard. Bring MyClipCloud to the front, or click Copy it.
- Copied in another app but nothing synced: this needs Chrome or Edge with clipboard access allowed for MyClipCloud (site settings → Clipboard). In other browsers, use Paste from device.
