How to Share Text Between Windows and Android Using a Browser

Move a link or note from your Windows PC to your Android phone (and back) with nothing but a browser.

Short answer

Open MyClipCloud in a browser on both your Windows PC and your Android phone and sign in with the same MyClipCloud account. On the PC, paste the text into the scratchpad and copy it. On the phone, the item appears in the app; tap Copy latest, then paste it into any app.

Windows to Android

  1. On Windows, open MyClipCloud in Chrome, Edge or Firefox and sign in.
  2. On Android, open MyClipCloud in Chrome and sign in with the same account.
  3. On Windows, paste your text into the scratchpad and press Ctrl+C on the selection, or click Copy.
  4. On Android, open MyClipCloud. The text is shown as the latest item.
  5. Tap Copy latest, then long-press in any app and choose Paste.

Android to Windows

  1. On Android, paste the text into the scratchpad.
  2. Select it and tap Copy (or use the system Copy option on the selection).
  3. On Windows, click Copy latest and press Ctrl+V where you need it.

Tips

  • Add MyClipCloud to your home screen from Chrome's menu for one-tap access.
  • Android pauses background tabs, so the item appears when you open the page.
  • If Copy latest is blocked, the app selects the text so you can copy it manually.

Other options worth knowing

Some keyboard and operating-system features can sync the clipboard between Windows and Android when both are signed in to the same account. They work differently and need their own setup; check the vendor's documentation if you want system-wide sync.
